IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
Dear Friends,
You may be aware that changes have recently been taking place at our home of 17 years, the wonderful Bear and Billet, and we are unsure of how much longer it will be able to accommodate us. We do have other options that we are investigating, and the club will continue to run within Chester, possibly across a couple of venues to accommodate the different needs of singers and guest nights. When choosing a new home, we shall consider accessibility, and may well bring the timings forward somewhat, hopefully making us more inclusive and accessible.
Whilst we will be very sad to leave that beautiful building and its lovely staff, the Raven Folk Club is far more than a building. We are a community , a family, made up of creative, warm hearted, knowledgeable, talented, original, hard-working, interesting and sometimes just a little bit crazy, people. In fact, the perfect combination!
We have moved venues many times in the past(though the last does seem quite a distant memory) and have always risen phoenix-like from the ashes. This will be an opportunity to be seized and not a loss to be mourned. Please keep an eye on this page. We will post any further information as soon as we have any. In the meantime, it is business as usual at the Billet with a singers night this Sunday (Aug 30th) and a chance to see the wonderful Brian Peters on Sept 6th (tickets £10).

From January we have made the decision to start charging a small entry fee of £2 on singers nights. This is instead of raising funds through a weekly raffle. Funds raised on singers nights help to subsidise ticket prices for guest nights, which we try to keep at or below £10, as well as covering essential expenditure such as replaceing equipment and insurance. Charging a small entry fee represents a fairer way to raise these funds. Many thanks as always for your continuing support.
