From adversity came creativity
In March 2020, when the world went into lockdown due to the pandemic, The Raven Folk Club, which had run uninterrupted for almost 42 years was forced to close. Like many other live music events, the organisers of the Raven decided to continue to make music online via a weekly hour long folk music video show that went out every Sunday, to the world. And boy did the world watch. We had people across the UK and in South America, North America, Asia, Europe and Australia and New Zealand tuning in regularly to watch talented contributors of videos. The Raven Online ran for 68 shows. Below are three selected shows, the very first one and the last one and a random one from somewhere in the middle. If you would like to watch any of the other shows, we have provided a link to the Youtube channel where you can pick which ever you like. We hope you enjoy looking back at the music that got us through tough times. A big thank you to all of you who sent the videos in from around the world.

RavenOnline show number one
The very first time we ventured online learning the ropes of video content creation as we went along. Music from Full House, Owen Chamberlain, Bill Malkin, Dave Russell, Chris and Debbie Lee amongst others.
RavenOnline show number 56
From the Wall of Death to The Gallant Hussar a wide array of diverse songs and tunes from Full House, Will Riding, Saul Rose and many others.
RavenOnline show number 68
The final Raven Online show. Its production and content really showed how the team really kept this going. The quality of videos we were given to include also shows the trust that people put in us to keep everyone entertained.
